About
Listening is one of the most important skills a leader can master. It is the basis of so many other skills and traits required for effective leadership. However, research suggests that we only remember between 25 and 50 percent of what we hear. This session will focus on listening best practices and strategies, tips and techniques we can apply in our communications with our team members and colleagues to enhance the positive impact of our leadership.

About Helena Long:
Vice-President of Human Resources & Leadership Development, JET Engineering Training & Consulting Services
Helena has over 30 years of executive and management experience in Human Resources, Organization Development and Training with an emphasis on strategic planning, leadership and professional development, HR systems and processes, employee engagement, and project management. She has held senior-level positions at Knox County Government, Rockwell Collins, Kinze Manufacturing and JET Engineering.
For 15 years Helena provided consultative services to Fortune 500 companies on a national and international level as well as to many small- to middle-sized companies in the manufacturing, financial, and educational industries and local governmental agencies. Some of her clients included Dell, Motorola, Ford, Boeing, Target, Verizon and Sprint. She holds a BS degree in Human Resource Management from The University of Tennessee with post-graduate work in Organization Development from Pepperdine University.
